Lambdog1066, is an aficionado of amateur couture. I see it as a calling reaching out to me, it froths at the mouth, it speaks in gilded tongues embroidering from under a cleft hoof, I weave with the needles' eye to create a scantily clad legacy. I invent lavish throws and have conjured pig lewd costumes, my aim is to produce peculiar conceptions, of how a costume can transcend from making the familiar unfamiliar, revealing a character, and at the same time obscure it. My costumes serve the surreal, and in the delivery, they present as an “event” within their own platform. Ultimately, the purpose of my work is to possess the body like a phantom that has taken over the individual's absurd persona through tragedy-as-farce, thus the costume is the catalyst that materialises the soul within.
Collaboration is an immense element contributing to the evolving stages of my craft, and the cornerstone of my creations are commissioned for artists, performers, dancers, drag artists and musicians, many, if not all who identify as non-binary, queer or trans persons.
